Nature Provides the Inspiration:

When you gaze at the wonders of the galaxy tonight you will see the natural beauty of the sky and the inspiration for my book ‘My Evening Star.’

The planet Venus also known as the ‘Evening Star or Morning Star’ always seemed to glow really brightly in the vast night sky: even at a time in my life when I lost a dear friend.

Each night I would look to the sky in search of the ‘Evening Star.’ Its presence always seemed to give a very positive vibe to my life. Then I realised that sometimes it just wasn’t there. At other times it would be hidden by storm clouds and then it would just disappear!

This is when I began asking myself – who else is like me – searching for the sometimes illusive ‘Evening Star’ – I certainly was not the only person who marveled at this wonder. Therefore, that is the reason for the first lines of our book. ……… ‘Each night I look out into the sky searching for the Evening Star. I wonder if anyone else does?’

After writing the initial draft for my story I contacted my best friend from High School, Sarah Lee. Sarah had always enjoyed illustrating her own birthday cards for us over the years. Sarah was delighted to be a part of the book and over the next few years she illustrated the wonderful drawings. My only request was that could she possibly illustrate the book with children from all around the world each searching for the Evening Star.

So enjoy reading ‘My Evening Star’ and as the ‘Evening Star’ moves around the globe I hope that it inspires all of you wonderful people in the same way as it has done for me.

Does anyone else search for the Evening Star?  OR Will you see the ‘Evening Star’ tonight?
